Our Raspberries: The Tulameen
At the Bleuetière Giard, we produce a unique kind of raspberries: the Tulameen.
This raspberry is native to Canada (British Columbia) and grows vertically. The fruit is larger and sweeter than a traditional raspberry. As it has a specific production, we are the only farm in the area with it.

A special production style
The Tulameen raspberry plant grows in a particular way.
They grow vertically on a woody stem and must be tied to restrict them from falling while they grow. The majority of its producers, including us, grow them in bins under long tunnels. The raspberry plants are fed water and fertilizer through irrigation tubes on a timer. These plants have a biennial production cycle, meaning they only produce fruits every two years.
Picking raspberries and other products
We pick a majority of our raspberries ourselves to be sold in the Very Berry Boutique during the summer. They are sold by the small basket or in larger flats. We sometimes offer a special u-pick day in the raspberries during the summer, but they are not guaranteed.
We also offer other raspberry products made at the farm including pies and jams.
