Our honey production
At the Bleuetière Giard, we produce our honey. We have many beehives that work hard to pollinate our flowers, notably in the blueberries, the raspberries, and the vegetables.
In the production of blueberries, it is very important to have bees pollinate the flowers to guarantee a high-end production of fruits. They work from the opening of the flowers in the spring to collect nectar to make honey. It is the bees that turn the nectar into honey.
Once the honey is made by the bees, we harvest it at different moments of the year, from spring to fall, to extract and filter it. Our honey is not pasteurized and is pure. It is mostly made of the nectar from the flowers of blueberries, raspberries, vegetables, and wildflowers in the sugar bush.

Macerated honey
Macerated honey is a delight little known by most of our visitors. It is produced by allowing natural products, such as fir thorns or wintergreen leaves, sit in the honey to extract the health benefits and the flavours.
Pollinators
Pollinators are at the heart of agriculture. In all their forms, they help pollinate flowers in most cultures and help maintain natural biodiversity.
As well as our hives at the farm, we also have wild pollinators that help us greatly. Bumblebees can be heard all season long in all of our fields but they are necessary in our raspberries, where the nectar quantities are higher which attracts them. Their humming can be heard in great numbers under the tunnels.
